We were pleased to welcome First Minister Michelle O’Neill and Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly to our building as part of their visit to Action for Children. This provided an opportunity for our CEO, Edel O’Doherty, and our team to briefly meet with them and highlight the work we do in promoting health and wellbeing across communities.
During the visit, our CEO, Edel O’Doherty, took the opportunity to highlight the ongoing health inequalities in the west of Northern Ireland, where communities often face additional challenges in accessing vital health services and support. Addressing these disparities remains a key priority for Developing Healthy Communities, and we continue to advocate for investment and long-term solutions that ensure fairer health outcomes for all.
At Developing Healthy Communities, we are committed to working alongside local organisations, policymakers, and communities to tackle health inequalities, promote mental wellbeing, and build stronger, more resilient communities. Visits like these reinforce the importance of supporting organisations that are working at the heart of communities, making a real difference in people’s lives.
We appreciate the opportunity to be part of this visit and remain dedicated to collaborating with partners to create lasting improvements in health and wellbeing.
💙 Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities.
